12-30-2010.

Hi all,

I hope you all had a good christmas. I hope you all put Christ over the gift giving this year. Christmas isnt all about giving or reciving things. Its about our Saviors birth. My pastor said an amazing thing the week before christmas. He talked about the way that Christ came. He didnt come in a golden chariot. Instead He came and was placed in a manger in a stable. It was probablly not the most enjoyable place to be. Why did He choose a manger instead of a kingdom?

The answer is that He already had that. When I think of the birth of our Savior. I see a servant and a king stepping off His throne to experience what man goes through. Think about it Christ is fully Human and God. That may be hard for some of us to grasp. Its awesome to know that we have a God that knows what we experience on a daily walk. He knows our temptations, because He was tempted to. He knew hunger ad]nd thrist. He knows how we feel when we are humiliated, because He felt that as well.

There are times where we feel lost. All we have to know is that there is a God that is there for us 24/7 all we have to do is tap into that.

Thanks for the Memories UNCG Fall 2010

Thanks for the memories UNCG. Can't wait for next semester.
Matt

Love you guys.

So Im done with my first ever semester in college. Im thrilled. God has brought me through alot this past semester, including Him bringing me to my knees and realizing that I totally need to focus on Him.

Along the way God has placed several people in my life that I have grown close to and they understand what Im going through. I am thankful for such great friends. So welcome to our lives.
These two people need no introduction but for those of you who dont know them. They are Justin and Sarah. This was taken after the Lecrae concert in November which I must say was amazing. It was a great time to spend with friends and just to worship the God of the universe. I believe with all my heart that Justin and Sarah were two Godsent people to be placed in my life. Justin just happens to live a couple doors down from me. He is just so wild and crazy, and He is just all about fun. As you can see, he likes to play Paper Jamz. He is a guy that I can go crazy and just have a fun time with. I admire his Christ like attitude and what He's been through alot and I admire that Christ is in his life. He encourages me and Im thankful for that.

Sarah is my best friend. In fact before I met her I can say that I didnt talk alot I didnt really have any friends at the beginning of the semester. We have alot in common and she is just another fun person. She understands my weirdness and thats cool. Her love for God is amazing and her testimoney is powerful. I mean it talks about How real our God is. I admire that. We are just soo goofy together. The both of us just like to have a good amount of fun.

O Tami, my english friend. It was so nice getting to know over the course of the semester. I am going to miss you,(I know you will be back) but still. It was great getting to go on the Lecrae trip and that was a day I will never forget for the rest of my life. You are an awesome person and dont change for anyone. I know your hate for Kenya soo much and Im sorry that I brought it up so much, and I will watch that show that you wanted me to see.

These Girls mean alot to me as well. They are Ru and Taffy. These ladies along with Justin and Sarah, belong to my Bible Study in our dorm. These two ladies are strong in their walks and I admire and look up to them alot. Ru's testimoney is similar to mine and when she said it at bible study one night, it allowed me to open up a little about myself than I had before. I dont like to talk about my past but It needed to be said and after that night I felt so much freedom. They are so encouraging to me. Taffy is the prayer warrior as I like to call it in Bible Study, she knows how to pray. I always like to hear her pray. I am thankful to God for bringing us together and I look forward to what He has planned for us next semester.

I am thankful for all these people in my life. I call these my close friends that I can go to anyone of them and they will lead me to God or even pray for me.

Love you all

Desire Him

"O God, YOU are my God;Early I will seek You;My Soul thirsts for You;My Flesh longs for You. In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water." Psalm 63:1.

"But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33.

"For to me, to live in Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21.

I happen to own a MacAurther Study Bible that I recieved upon graduation as a gift from my church. It has been really helpful and this semester, I have started to gain more knowledge in Him. Psalm is a book that I enjoy reading because it is basically praising God and thats something that I enjoy doing alot. Alot of my favorite verses come out of that book. Matthew 6:33 im sure we have all heard before. Philippians is a book I enjoy as well.

These 3 verses talk about persuing Christ and what He has to offer us. He offers us so much and how often do we take it? How often do we get up early in the morning and praise God? Most of us are asleep when  the sun rises. I can actually say that a couple months ago on mens retreat I saw a beautiful site. We had devotion on the mountaintop and saw the sun rise. Wow what a sight. A mighty scene of Gods power. Our souls thirst for Him, We disire Him. If we seek Christ with all we have then EVERYTHING will fall into place. This means put Him first and everything will come into His will for you.

So in this I challenge you all to desire Christ.

My Gods on the throne.

The message tonight spoke to me as usual. This one was important in the way that our pastor actually warned us about false preachers that might be on some of our bookcases. These false teachers are out there and they actually get into our homes by the way of TV and books. These teachers look good on the horizon, but the problem is that they dont bare fruit.

There was this book out several years ago called "The Secret", this book talks about "how we are all Gods and that if we speak it, it will come to pass. The Moral of this message is to avoid reading or listening to people that have this. When we read spiritual books we need to compare what we read to what is true by the Bible. The cool thing about the whole night was he said that God allows things in our lives that we might not want or like there, but He is on the throne. I sat back and realized that everything that I had been through was because God allowed it to happen, He never left me nor forsaked me and now I can say that ive ended that part of my life with Him involved in everyway. I believe that my testimoney is a powerful and it will reach others.

I will speak to you in your language.

Hey guys. Im sorry I haven't blogged in a while. I've just been busy with school and everything. I will try almost everyday to be on here. Well First some updates. I have completed my first semester in college! woo. can I get an amen lol. Campus Crusade is still going strong for me and I enjoy every min. of it. We have started up a seperate Bible Study in Phillips-Hawkins and its just a small fellowship. Pray that we will be used of God to do His will. We miss the signs all the time, but isn't it good to know that we have a God that gives us a second chance?

On to the main point of this blog: Im ready a book that was given to me by a friend. Its called He Chose the Nails by Max Lucado. It talks about some of the meanings and what God did to gain our hearts. I just read the chapter on the sign. This was when Jesus was about to be crucified. Pilate had a sign placed on the top of the cross written in roman, hebrew, and greek stating that Jesus was the king of the jews. Indeed He was and still is. Why was this sign important you say? In the book Lucado focuses on two seperate truths. The first is "there is no person He wont use". The sign above God's head bears fruit and people saw that. How do you think the theif felt when he realized who this was. I like the saying of the theif "remember me when YOU go into YOUR kingdom". This sign above Jesus's head was in fact the first piece of spreading the Gospel.  It wasnt the intention of the Roman soldiers and Pilate to write those words in three different languages so that they could see and read in their own language. Just imagine if we didnt have the sign of the cross, then we wouldnt know if it was true. The cool thing out of this story was that God was in control the whole time. He used Pilate to spread the Gospel of His kingdom, by proclaiming His son or Himself as King of the Jews.

The Second fact is "there is no language that God will not speak". God works His ways out. Like an example with my life. I struggled with addiction to adult stuff and I knew it was wrong. I wanted to be free, so I cried out to God and I felt it was over but it wasnt. I went back to it. One night I felt a pull on the chains and God was there with me. I couldnt see Him but I knew He was there. He spoke to me there. There are times when we really want to hear from God and we dont get a response from Him right then and there. It takes its time. Like I knew it would take some time for me to get away from it. The point of it all is that Christ is there and He knows your language and knows you best so I challenge you to let Him do that.

Gotta run
Matt
